What is this padel, and how does it differ from other racket sports?

Padel is a racket sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. It is typically played in doubles on a smaller court enclosed by glass walls and wire mesh. One key difference from other racket sports is that the ball can be played off the walls, adding a unique dimension to the game.

Do I need to be a member of a club to play padel?

Many facilities offer pay-as-you-play options or allow non-members to book court time. It's best to check with the specific facility for their membership and booking policies.

What equipment do I need to play padel?

The basic equipment needed to play padel includes a padel racket, padel balls, appropriate footwear (typically tennis shoes with non-marking soles), and comfortable sports attire (for example Play Padel Prague gear, wink wink).

What are the rules of padel?

The rules of padel are similar to those of tennis, with some adaptations for the smaller court and wall play. Players take turns serving diagonally, and the ball must bounce once on the ground before it can be played off the walls. Points are scored when the opposing team fails to return the ball legally.
